March 29, 2009 - my last baby shower. Mom's friends threw me a baby shower and had it at her new house so that everyone could see my parents new house!!

Here's the awesome cake that Linda brought...it tasted so good!!
Our first shower game consisted of passing a basket full of baby socks and having 30 seconds to match the socks...I was in the lead until Josh's second cousin, Samantha beat me by 3 pair!

Here's Linda doing our favorite shower game...the match game!! This was hit!!

Here's me opening gifts while everyone cut off a piece of plastic ruler to estimate how "big" my belly is...hehehe

Here is someone who thinks I'm much bigger than I am..haha!

Me, Lyndsey, and Cara-who won the measurement game...Good Job, Cara!!

Here's all of us girls getting a bite to eat...my grandparents came to see the new house, also! Here's some of mom's friends...Rose and Mom are in the front, Anne and Winnie are in the back!It was sooo much fun and I am so thankful that so many people care and think of Josh and me during this big time in our lives! My mom is very lucky to have such a great group of friends like these women...Thanks everyone!!

Last but not least, Chrissy and her newest addition, Chase, who is 5 weeks old!! He is sooo cute!!

Whats up with April 9th??

Today at work everyone was telling me that it looked like I had "dropped" and that they thought I'd be having the baby before my due date (april 23rd). Angel was the first to say April 9th, then Amy said it, too. Jason decided to start a pool on the date and time I would have him and a couple of other people thought the 9th, also. What is up with the 9th??

The reason I ask is because that is when Josh is having his wisdom teeth removed...how in the world will we handle that and having a baby..hehehe! And to make matters worse, it costs $350 to cancel or reschedule the wisdom teeth surgery!!

As nice as it would be to have the baby a little earlier than my due date, I can't handle having a newborn to take care of 24/7 and an adult to take care of even if it is a couple of days...haha!

I'm getting excited and very anxious about having the baby! We missed our childbirth classes because we were both sick, so I have no idea what to expect. Mom and I drove by the labor and delivery section of the hospital so we would know where to go...I'll take Josh by there this weekend so he'll know, too. I feel like no matter what I do around the house, it won't be ready for the baby and all the visitors that will stop by to see us, but I assume that is a pretty common feeling for most soon-to-be mothers! Oh, and my doctor that is delivering Mason is pregnant... I found out at the last appointment that she is due 2 weeks after me...so I'm imagining that she will probably NOT be the one delivering Mason unless we do have him a little earlier than my due date.

Thank goodness it's Friday, don't think I would make one more day of work this week. When I get home at night my legs from my knees down look like tree trunks they are so swollen, but by morning they are back to normal. My rings don't fit at the moment, either. I've gained 8lbs in 2 weeks which is mostly fluid...ahhhhh!! I understand why women are READY to have these babies...why you go from being soooo scared to soooo ready!!

I'll be posting more at the end of the weekend...I have a baby shower and a cute little sign that mom had found in Hobby Lobby that I have to put a picture of on the blog...it is going in the baby's room and it is just perfect for him!

Work and Family Baby shower!!!

Friday night at work, I had another surprise baby shower from the B-shift nights!!! It was so much fun!! My friend Kristin, came up on her day off and Karen brought an awesome cake and several things off of my registry. The PICU group got me the car seat I registered for and everyone else brought the cutest clothes and accessories!! I appreciate it sooooo much!!!

Karen crosstiched this bib/bootie/burp cloth set for Mason...it is sooooo cute and I can't wait to get some pics with him in these!!

Saturday evening, my family in Pocahontas threw Josh and me a baby shower and it was sooo much fun...we had blue drinks, lots of food, and lots of family-can't ask for more!!! My aunt Lisa, Karen, and Cissy did a lot of the decorations and food, along with all my family bringing stuff!! My little cousins helped a lot too making baby wreathes, filling candy in containers and coming up with games!!

Here's mom and my Uncle Kyle with the blue drinks!!!

This is the punch that the kids and I drank...non-alcoholic!!

Here's our awesome buffet spread...I don't even think everything was out when this pic was taken, but the food was wonderful!! Below are some of my little cousins that helped their mommies put this all together!!

Here is Jessica, Luke, Ely, and Steven (hiding) drinking from the little bottles that were used to fill with candy as gifts and favors...haha!

Above is Anna playing Pin the Diaper on the Baby!! Below is all of our gifts in and around the crib from the family shower...diaper bags, stroller, picture and a bassinets surround it and the rest of my clothes, blankets, toys, etc. are inside!!I'm getting more and more excited about getting these last 4 weeks over with and to meet baby Mason...Thank you all for sharing in our excitement and thinking of us, we love you all!!!

Surprise Baby Shower at ACH

My best friend, Jennifer, was in town this week and she came by to bring me lunch and to catch up...she lives in Arizona now and I don't get to see her often! She bought Mason the mobile that matches his bedding along with 3 receiving blankets, diapers, and lotion...It was sooo cute!!

Wow!! Like I didn't think my day could get much better...seeing Jen and having maternity pics done...I had a surprise baby shower at work yesterday evening. It was incredible!! My good friend, Angel, made an awesome cake with baby Mason in a stroller and Roscoe with a ball...so sweet of her to include my big boy, Roscoe! My supervisors Tammy, Lisa, and our director, Patty was all in on it! Both days and nights celebrated with me down in the Pulmonary Lab...it was a blast!!! I hope I can figure out how to get the pictures that Lisa emailed me to the blog so I can put all the pictures on here! Lisa sent me the pictures when she got home so I could show my mom and Josh and my family this weekend!!

Here's me walking into the party...I was told by Jennifer, my fellow coordinator, that we needed to go down to the pulmonary lab to help with a patient going bad. As I walked through the first set of doors to the lab, she whispered "good luck" and ran out...hehehe...I didn't know what to think!

I was so surprised and thankful I couldn't help but cry...Everyone put a lot of thought and effort into making it a great party...THANKS EVERYONE!! Oh yeah...a funny little tidbit from the day-Whitney had made cheesedip for the party and had in heating in a crockpot in the department...of course, me loving food and being pregnant, I noticed right away and had fun eating on it not knowing that it was for a surprise party for me!! hahaha...

Answers to why we are miserable!!

I have felt so awful since last Thursday and when Josh started getting sick Monday, I really knew something was wrong...neither of us could shake it, either! Today Josh went to the doctor and it seems we have the FLU. The doc said that out of about 350 people that he has diagnosed with the flu, 30 of those people have had flu shots...that would be ME! We both have been given some cough syrup with codiene...fun stuff, and my doctor put me on antibiotics to be on the safe side.

I can honestly say that I have never been this sick as long as I can remember...usually I can shake something off pretty quick, but since my immune system isn't the best right now thanks to baby Mason, I will probably stay sick longer.

I had to look up some information on dogs and catching the flu...and though there is no way he can catch our virus, there is a dog strain of the flu that they catch from other animals. Who knows maybe Roscoe gave us the flu...hahaha!

Of course, my lovely job of Care, Love and Hope is what initially exposed us to the flu...I see kids all the time that have to flu...and a lot of times that aren't diagnosed until after I've been in there letting them cough on me and suctioning their little noses out.

Well please pray that we get better...we will have officially missed all of our baby classes at the hospital...the child care class and the childbirth class which I really wanted to go to, but I would hate to spread this to other expecting mommies!

It's not so fun being sick!!

Thursday of last week, I started feeling horrible...developing a cough and stuffy nose. Friday I even called into work, which I NEVER do...and didn't even get off the couch because I was so miserable. I started getting a fever that night and had to call the doctor. Of course, the worse part about it was that my first baby celebration was Sat. on my birthday...a Grandma Shower for mom thrown by all her co-workers.
Sat. morning I woke up and felt a little better as I got moving and cleaning on the house. I decided I may put on my new outfit and at least take pictures with mom...but at the last minute I thought I could make it to the shower, and I knew mom really wanted me to go!

All the things I was trying to do get better...Robitussin, cough drops, Tylenol...even Mason's bulb syringe...yes...I even suctioned my nose trying to just breathe!!!!

Mom and I about to leave the house...With our new outfits we bought the weekend before!!

Here's mom with the cake!! Cute little teddy bear!

Here's mom with all her gifts in her crib...this is her nursery at her house. Her theme is jungle animals!

It was such a fun time...Mom had a permanent grin on her face the whole day! We all went out to eat for my birthday that night at Dondies in Des arc...even my brother came with us!! Besides being sick, I had a great day!

Caught him moving again!

I caught him again....having a party in my belly, crazy kid!! I think you can hear Josh saying that he can't see him moving and I'm telling "yeah he is" hehehe, he had moved up closer to my ribcage instead of down lower where he usually sits...on my bladder!
